One Site, Two Stories

The Milton Clean Energy Centre was a proposal by Pristine Power that was to be located in Milton, Ontario. The split screen below is an excerpt from an “Open Letter to the Community” published by Pristine Power about this facility. The important thing to notice here is the similar language they use for the proposal in King.

·        First reference on the left states that the plant is not expected to run 24 hours a day, rather only during time of peak power demand. Environment Canada states that the plant is expected to run between 50 to 100% of the time. Can we expect the same?

·        The next two points state that the MCEC does not pose a risk to human health and that emissions levels drop off significantly and become undetectable beyond 500m. Look at the annual quantities of pollutants released into the atmosphere according to Environment Canada. Those values are in tonnes per year!
